In 2001, after a forty two year career as a symphonic musician in the studios and concert hall of New York City, Thomas Lisenbee set aside his trumpet to devote himself to his other great love, writing.
A writer of both poetry and fiction, he has published two books of poetry (Osage Street [Author House} and Dogwalking and other Poems [Wild Pines Press}). In 2006 one of his short stories was short listed for the Raymond Carver Short Story Prize. His fiction has been published by Wilmingtonblues, Carvezine, TajMahal and Our Stories. Some of the places his poetry has appeared is in The Literary Gazette of the River Reporter, Poetz.com, Roguesholars.com and Jerseyworks.com. This January he was announced as the winner of the 2009 Richard Bauch Short Story Prize.
He lives in Brooklyn NY and Lackawaxen Pennsylvania and is a member of the Upper Delaware Writer’s Collective. His idea of poetry is: just right words arranged with grace, written as normally spoken, that say what cannot be said.
