Red Ochre LiT strives to publish premier, contemporary literature. We are interested in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and short, five poem chapbooks. While our primary goal is to showcase the work of experienced authors, we feature up to three emerging writers in each issue as well. To help give this new population of writers a voice, we randomly select one individual to interview about his/her journey to publication. RED OCHRE LiT was founded on the belief that reading and writing are becoming dying pastimes. In a world where people choose daily to flip through 1,000 channels instead of pages, writers must perfect their work and present it via widely accessible media venues. First and foremost, however, we must lose our fear of rejection and submit polished pieces for publication. Truly, this represents the crux of Red Ochre, resoiling the grains of our literary ancestors and what they worked so hard for. We are a multicultural journal and we venerate voices from around the world. We take pride in our national and international writers, whose work is both innovative and captivating. Anything less, would defeat our purpose. We invite you to read our issues and celebrate yet another wave of writing!

Saraba is an imprint of Two Iroko Limited whose goal is to create unending voices by encouraging young, previously unheard writers to publish their works, assist emerging writers (i.e. those who have been published little or not at all, whose talent are recognizable and whose works are qualitative) in establishing their voices by creating a platform for their writing to be showcased. Through an actualization of these purposes, Saraba would ensure that there is no generational gap, that succeeding generations of writers in Africa have unending voices.
