Information about your publication: Berneria is an online, interactive website. But more so, Berneria is a newly discovered land where stories are no longer linear. Berneria will offer a wonderful new kind of fiction not suitable the printed page.
What type of submissions you are looking for: Many years ago Tim Berners-Lee discovered a fertile coast far from our own crowded shores. This new land is called Berneria and we are looking for colonists. Our new colony seeks to resolve Mr. Berners-Lee’s concern that, “very few people have an easy, intuitive tool for putting their thoughts into hypertext.” If you decide to join us, our small, but sturdy boat, the Cerf-Kahn, will ferry you to your new land, far from the persecution of dogmatists. Any dogmatists attempting to enter our country will be quickly branded a Rhetoric and removed. You will be judged on your behavior and not necessarily your ideas. However, our most conscientious, constructive colonists will be invited to help create a constitution. Please submit brief stories no more than 600 words, in first person, about either: how the Old World Dogmatics are oppressing you, about your trip on the Cerf-Kahn, what Berneria looked like when you first arrived (geographically, ecologically, barometrically, etc.), how Berneria has liberated you, and/or your experience during the first few weeks in your new colony (please specify the name of your colony). Multiple submissions are allowed. Photos and videos are acceptable. No weird genre fiction. We strongly encourage honest, vulnerable pieces, written in your own style. Please NO cover page with publishing credits and education. We want to judge you on your writing first.
