Caper Literary Journal currently publishes a small number of pieces each week. We print poetry, prose, interviews, memoir, reviews and e-chapbooks. Each month, however, we’ll feature a guest editor who will bring in fresh work and a new sound. CLJ publishes high-quality poetry and prose from American and international established and emerging authors. Though CLJ is primarily an online publication, we print yearly anthologies. CLJ’s aesthetic leans toward the surreal or slipstream. We enjoy magic realism. We enjoy detail and beauty. We enjoy complexity. Caper aims to encourage unique writing, publish work that transcends fleeting, academic literary trends and present words that exist on the fringes of the real and unreal. Caper holds contests, literary events and nominates for major prizes. |
