PITBULL is a brand-new online literary magazine. PITBULL is an effort to cull the best of the best in fiction and poetry from across the globe. PITBULL is edited by Emily Homrok and Michael Long. PITBULL is shooting to launch its inaugural issue in December of 2010. PITBULL is now open for submissions. PITBULL is here to stay. |
| What type of submissions you are looking for: |
PITBULL does not adhere to any one aesthetic, style, or school of writing. Rhyming poetry and zombie yarns aren’t our favorite, but outside of that, have at. All we want is quality writing, plain and simple. PITBULL accepts submissions year-round, and there are two ways to submit: Send up to 5 poems or up to 3,500 words of fiction to pitbull.editor@gmail.com. You can either copy and paste, or attach your document as a .doc, .rtf, or .txt file. Please, no .docx files. OR Use SubMishMash, our online submission manager. Regardless of how you choose to submit, please include the word count of your piece (when submitting fiction) and your contact information on the first page of your submission. Please also include a cover letter with your submission. Are cover letters mandatory? No. Are they strongly preferred? Yes. Our staff is small, but we generally respond to submissions within 60 days. If the allotted time has passed and you haven’t heard back from us, you may query us regarding the status of your submission. PITBULL reserves Electronic Archival Rights. All other rights revert to the author upon publication. Sadly, we are unable to pay our contributors monetarily. What we can offer is exposure for your work, which will be posted on the site once enough submissions have been obtained to launch our inaugural issue, tentatively scheduled for publication in November or December of 2010. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere. PITBULL seeks ONLY previously unpublished work. PITBULL is unable to critique submitted works.
