We are a print poetry and art publication, named for the ancient river that flows north from the mountains of Sonora, Mexico, into Arizona. We accept submissions during two submission periods: January 1st through February 29th, and July 1st through August 1st. We will publish an issue around April, and the other in the early fall. We publish approximately 40 to 50 poems each issue, and two to four pieces of artwork. |
| What type of submissions you are looking for: |
We are interested in strong imagery that employs skillful and artistic language. We consider all forms of poetry, including prose poems, and we have a particular, but not exclusive, interest in landscape, regional, and plain speech resonance poetry (plain speech does not mean boring). We are not interested in greeting card poetry, rants and diatribes, or genre work. |
