Straight Forward: A Poetry Journal

Posted on December 19, 2011 by Every Writer
Poetry: There are no restrictions on length or form, but we are looking for poetry that is clear and honest. We will consider previously published writing as along as the earlier publication information is provided at the time of submission. Essays and Blogs: In addition to poetry we will also consider guest blog entries and academic essays about poetry. There is no deadline for these submissions and accepted pieces may appear at any time. Photography: We would like to expand the look of our journal, so please submit your best scenic photos that can be used as headers and on various pages.

971 MENU defunct

Posted on December 12, 2011April 21, 2023 by Every Writer
971 MENU is a purely online not-for-profit venture. We publish whenever we have enough work to justify an issue. That means five pieces. The minimum time between issues is thirty days, and attempts are made to coincide with the first of the month. We publish fiction and nonfiction of any length and sometimes accidentally other stuff. 971 MENU began in September 2006 as a publisher of fiction under 1000 words. We are pleased with our work, and we are quite pleased with the high-quality work we have been fortunate enough to publish, but we no longer limit ourselves in terms of length. However, your chance of seeing a thirty-page epic here is fairly slim. We still put out the short stuff, and some that's a little bit longer.

The Conium Review

Posted on December 10, 2011 by Every Writer
We still believe in the allure of "new book smell," and we are dedicated to producing high-quality print editions of each issue. The publication itself is print-only, but we augment our traditionalist methods with podcasts, social networking, and online reviews. We seek to revive and redefine small press publishing, supporting independent literature in our community and abroad.

Abramelin defunct

Posted on December 6, 2011April 21, 2023 by Every Writer
Abramelin has been publishing high quality poetry since the summer of 2006. We took 2010 off. Now we have returned with a new format! Instead of yearly or biannual issues, I will be doing monthly updates, often with featured poets. We are switching our focus to just poetry. I will consider a short story, but no more essays. So to all of our old friends, welcome back. And here's hoping to meet lots of new friends as we set out on our second life.
