Call & Response is a blog and handmade journal dedicated to responsive art and writing. We are looking to foster a fluid dialogue within the creative community by issuing weekly challenges, encouraging collaboration and facilitating a free exchange of ideas. We hope that readers will engage actively with our content, not simply appreciating the work that appears in C&R as passive observers but using it as a jumping-off point for their own work. |
| What type of submissions you are looking for: |
We accept prose (both fiction and non-fiction) and poetry of any length, visual art, music, and video submissions. We do not discriminate on the basis of subject matter, style, or genre. Our only requirement is that submissions must relate, in some respect, to content that has previously been published in Call & Response, whether it is one of our prompts or another contributor’s work. The connection may be as tenuous or abstract as you like, as long as you can articulate it clearly to us. |
