Specutopia is a high-quality speculative fiction magazine that is published on a bi-monthly basis (every two months). It is distributed for purchase via a variety of electronic and epub formats, including PDF, Kindle, Nook, etc. Additionally, one featured story each month (two per issue) is available to be freely read on the Specutopia website. By “speculative fiction,” we mean science fiction, fantasy, and the whole range of hybrid and cross genres that cover and combine those genres. |

Specutopia is seeking high-quality stories that blur the artificial line between “literary” and “genre” fiction. We’re looking for stories by talented writers who are as proficient at the art of writing, as they are the craft. We want beautifully written stories that are skillfully and expertly executed–stories that are powerful, exhilarating, tragic, moving, insightful, edgy, unique. Solid writing mechanics, stunning prose, imaginative settings, compelling characters, and well-thought out plots are all equally important. We’re only looking for the best stories from serious writers. |
