Ploughshares has published quality literature since 1971. Best known for our award-winning Ploughshares literary journal, we also publish Ploughshares Solos, digital-first long stories and essays, and a lively literary blog. Emerging Writer’s Contest link: http://www.pshares.org/submit/Emerging-Fiction-Writers-Contest.cfm. Open to fiction and nonfiction writers, as well as poets. Submission dates: March 1st – May 15th. Submission fee: $24, includes subscription to Ploughshares. Current subscribers submit for free. Award: $1000 plus publication. Submissions are accepted online only.
