Maybe not the best, but it was quite a surprising find for me: a movie called Ink that I stumbled upon randomly (it is streaming online, I believe). It's a low budget affair but manages to incorporate some interesting visual effects, it has a unique world and story, which dragged a bit in the middle but made up for it with a good ending. The characters were intriguing - I think that's the element I liked the most, all the various characters I was quickly invested in.

And to top it all off, it was filmed in and around my home, Denver! It's a rare thing for me to see my home state in a movie, I ain't not from no big city like New York or Los Angeles.

I would recommend Ink, it's a great indie fantasy film! (Not Harry Potter-LOTR fantasy. Think more Neil Gaiman)

I have seen ink and I like it very much. The odder than it being on Netflix is it being on Hulu. http://www.hulu.com/watch/116313/ink I thought it was a very good movie. I don't know if it is great, but I did like it. I think they did a great job with all the effects and characters, but it was just outside a cult classic for me. It was missing something, I think maybe the twist at the end was just a little bit of a stretch
