I can't give a short answer (with a good reason for this one, but it is also a problem I have concerning anything.)  I lived in Oregon most of my life, near Astoria, but always felt I was a "southerner" b/c I spent 5 1/2 years of my childhood in St. Francisville, LA, and felt that was home ever after.  A few years ago my husband and I decided on a mid-life "adventure" and moved to Atlanta, GA (his company relocated him.)  This is not the South of my childhood, but I guess I'm an Atlantan for a while now.

Bulls, New Zealand

Hi Wilddaisy,
we were thinking of New Zealand a few years before we eventually decided on Greece to settle on.

Kefalonia is a bit like NZ only much, much, much smaller

But we do have earthquakes, great coastline and a hugely tall mountain, there are only completely extinct volcanoes though.

I hope we will visit New Zealand one day, if the economy ever picks up & we ever have enough money to afford to travel.

Bulls is a small town in the North Island.
New Zealand is a great place to visit (Not biased or anything ha ha). Great beaches, native parks and unique towns (my town has a giant bull and we use "a-bull" isms on our businesses. For example Drivethru-a-bull which is on the local McDonald's restaurant).
We have earthquakes too of course, being on a major fault line. "The Ring of Fire". Many mountains, some active, some dormant. GREAT snowfields. It's autumn here now so a good time to visit. Winter coming soon, although summer is just as good. We have summer in the later months. During Christmas and New Year's.
If the economy picks up make it a priority!
