I heartily recommend seeing True Grit if you haven't yet! I am a fan of the original film adaptation and went into the new one skeptical, but came out of it impressed. I have not read the novel, but plan to soon.

At the moment I am reading River of Doubt, having just finished Lost City of Z. It is a month for crazy adventures in the Amazon, apparently.

I'm reading that free proof copy that Create Space let me print because I entered their ABNA contest last year. Finding a few missed Spanish accent marks, extra spaces, and a handful of typos. I'm also reading a nonfiction book calle On Mexican Time, by a couple who moved to San Miguel de Allende back in the '80's.

We plan to see Narnia today, and True Grit on Monday.

Lol, I'm kinda shy to admit that I am reading The Wizard of Oz today. I remember the feel good feeling it brought me when I was in my teenage years, and it's truly a classic as I am feeling the same hope and adventure Dorothy once presented me in her journey

Don't be shy about it ever! It is a classic and very deep. Have you heard of all the deep metaphors that run through that book? The tin man is the rust belt, the lion is a politician, and the scrow are the farmers....and much much more, great book

All the Quite Village animals was very fantastic, plot-wise. It's the only one of his I've research, and it took me a while to get used to his unusual term elements. If you do practice this one, be sure to research the information before you see the movie, or it could be a let down. The movie was fantastic.

I'm very ashamed to say I'm reading Kiss the Dead, an Anita Blake Vampire Hunter novel by Laurell K. Hamilton, but only because it's NaNoWriMo and I don't want to read something that will distract me from the novel that I'm working on.

Just today I purchased and started reading The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum. I have seen the movie several times and liked it. Can't wait to finish reading it.

I just find comfort in the familiarity of Joyce Carol Oates. I love that her novels contain short stories at their inception which she mentions. I can see her process. I can feel my process. I need to make the time to connect to it. "The Gravedigger's Daughter."
