Yeah okay, I run and edit EWR, so you wouldn’t think I would need a personal blog. Well I like to talk a lot, and I say what I know about everything, so sometimes writing stuff for EWR feels a little restrictive. In this blog I’m going to talk about me, about publishing, about writing, about well anything I want. I’ll talk about EWR too, but mostly it will be about me.
I’ve been writing poetry sense I was 9 or 10. I love writing, reading, and meeting writers. That’s why I started working on the web in the first place. I was ending my BFA writing program and I moved away from my college town to get a job. Therefore I lost all my support in writing.
In 1999 started a literary magazine called Drunk Duck in 1999. The site only ran for about 2 years. It was way labor intensive and too time consuming to maintain, so I quick. Just a couple of years later I started a free site “everylitmag.” It was a simple list for me to be able to click a link and find a magazine to submit my work too. The site started growing, the web started changing and it become Every Writers Resource. I found that having it on a free site was a huge mistake. I bought a domain and started doing pretty well on the site. You can read a little more about this on EWR.
There’s may back story. Basically I’m a former web publisher/editor turned editor publish. I have a BFA in Creative Writing, a degree in journalism, and a Masters in Education. I also have a wife, and 3 kids. So my life is busy busy busy.
Anyway, this is some stuff about me. The posts will very, I hope you follow along. Please join the mailing list to get all kinds of free stuff, like the Seven Deadly Stories. I’m also working on another ebook: Early American Short Stories. That will be free to all of the mailing list people when I finish it. So thanks for dropping by.
