Political Cartoons Renew
Posted By admin (online) on Friday, January 22nd 2010 under: Pics, Pictures Tags: political cartoonI thought it might be interesting to run some political cartoons here on EWR. I’ve found many public domain images published before 1923 that I believe still apply today. For instance:
This image is attributed to Lewis Wickes Hine from 1913. The cartoon has the signature from Herbert Johnson. The signature is at odds with the attribution, obviously, but we are unable to distinguish between the creator and the attribution of creation. That being said I feel the cartoon applies today. The worker pushing the bag up the hill originally had the caption “Child Labor” on his back. We have amended that to just Labor. We the recent “happenings” in the stock market and economy, I feel it is very telling and applicable.
