From the Publisher

Oberlin College Press is a nonprofit literary press based at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. The overall goal of the press, staffed mostly by poets who volunteer their time and student interns who wish to learn about all aspects of publishing, is to produce a periodical of high standing and notable integrity, along with books of superlative quality, with respect to design as well as literary excellence and originality. At the same time, the press strives for affordability and wide availability, keeping its publications i! n print and reasonably priced.

Oberlin College Press publishes books devoted in various ways to the art of poetry: * The FIELD Translation Series, begun in 1978, makes available the most exceptional of foreign writers to an English-speaking audience through the work of unusually gifted translators. * The FIELD Poetry Series, funded in part by an annual contest, features the work of new poets as well as, from time to time, the selected work of more established poets (e.g. Russell Edson, Franz Wright, Marianne Boruch). * FIELD Editions are occasionally produced anthologies: of poetry, of essays addressed to poetics, or of works of a specific genre, such as magical realist fiction and the prose poem.
