From the Editor<\/span><\/p>\n The Copaiba Literary Review(pronounced co-pie-ba) is a tree that symbolizes vitality. Copaiba Press publishes a quarterly literary magazine and hosts workshops and other events to celebrate the vitality of our veterans and the communities they serve. Our mission is to document the truths of war and to seek peace and healing for veterans, their families, and everyone affected by conflict. Copaiba Press has no political agenda. Sure, ultimately we\u2019d like to see world peace, but who wouldn\u2019t? We\u2019re not here to talk about policies or politics. We\u2019re here to celebrate good writing and to allow the voices of veterans and their family members to be heard. Nothing more, nothing less.<\/p>\n Submissions<\/span><\/p>\n Copaiba publishes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction written by veterans, their families, and others affected by current and past wars. We want writing that explores what it means to live in times and places of conflict: from world conflicts to family conflicts to political conflicts to internal conflicts. Work can be from any perspective: it can address actual combat, life on the homefront, or the experiences of refugees. We are also interested in the ways people heal from and overcome conflict. We want to know what courage, honor, dedication, and strength mean to you. We are interested in what you remember and what you see. We are especially interested in serving as a publishing venue that highlights the work of veterans of any war and the families that sacrifice alongside them, but we will consider excellent work by any writer who has an experience and viewpoint to share.
