The Avalon Literary Review is a family owned and produced literary magazine. We are dedicated to publishing noteworthy works of poetry, short fiction and personal essays.<\/p>\n

As writers ourselves, we recognize the challenge of finding quality outlets for our work. As readers, we welcome the opportunity to discover and share the creations of other artists.<\/p>\n

The Avalon Literary Review welcomes work from both published and unpublished writers and poets. We accept submissions of poetry, short fiction and personal essays. The author\u2019s voice and point of view should be unique and clear. We seek pieces which spring from the author\u2019s life and experiences. Submissions which explore both the sweet and bitter of life, with a touch of humor, are a good fit for our Review. While we appreciate the genres of fantasy, science fiction and horror, our magazine is not the forum for such work.<\/p>\n

Submissions<\/span><\/p>\n

Electronic submissions only. Previously unpublished works only. Simultaneous submissions are okay, but please notify us if a piece is accepted elsewhere. Please only submit in one category at a time. Works must be written in English.<\/p>\n

Categories and Length Limits:
\nPoetry – you may submit up to three poems (no more than 10 pages total)
\nShort Fiction – you may submit one short story (up to 2,500 words)
\nFlash Fiction – you may submit up to 2 pieces of flash fiction (up to 500 words each)
\nPersonal Essay – you may submit one personal essay (up to 2,500 words)<\/p>\n
