From the Editor<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ocotillo Review seeks to publish diverse voices from underserved communities along side established writers of Poetry, Short Fiction, And Narrative Nonfiction. Although we don\u2019t shy away from experimental or unusual approaches to literature, our goal is to promote finely crafted writing with an expressive and meaningful voice. We pay authors for the work accepted for publication.<\/p>\n

Submissions<\/span><\/p>\n

SHORT FICTION should be one story totaling 1000-4200 words not counting the title. Novel excerpts are allowed providing they can stand alone without extraneous notation.
\nAccepted work pays $50 USD<\/p>\n

FLASH FICTION should be 500 words or less not counting titles. Include up to 3 pieces per entry in one document. Start each piece on a new page. Accepted work pays $25 USD<\/p>\n

POETRY \u2013 Include 3 to 5 poems in one document. Lines should be single spaced with double-spacing between stanzas. Start each poem on a new page. Limit each poem to 60 lines.
\nThe entire submission should not exceed 10 pages. Accepted work pays $25 USD<\/p>\n

CREATIVE or NARRATIVE NON-FICTION should total 800 \u2013 4000 words not counting the title. Personal essays and biographies are acceptable as are Op-Ed and investigative journalism . We are not interested in unsolicited reviews of literary or other artistic works at this time. Accepted work pays $50 USD<\/p>\n
