Avery<\/p>\n<p>The wind, the sky, the light weaves in and out<br \/>\nLas estaciones del a&#8217;o, they speak to all<br \/>\nFaithfully returning like an evening porch light<\/p>\n<p>Primavera<br \/>\nHer crocus petals showing off new skirts of lavanda<br \/>\nBudding twigs sing out estamos aqu<br \/>\nSpring when the heart is awakened<\/p>\n<p>Verano<br \/>\nA sultry wind wavers without a care for time<br \/>\nLanguid afternoons become steamy nights<br \/>\nSummer when el coraz&#8217;n is aroused<\/p>\n<p>Oto&#8217;o<br \/>\nHis dead leaves crumble into orange flakes<br \/>\nAs winds whittle vacant patches in canopies<br \/>\nAutumn when the heart strikes oro<\/p>\n<p>Invierno<br \/>\nBlanco, a cold and pale evening&#8217;s crossing<br \/>\nSnow descends like a cloudy hoard<br \/>\nWinter when the heart seeks amor<\/p>\n<p>###<br \/>\nNanette L. Avery grew up on St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; a small island in the Lesser Antilles.
