ATTENTION.
\nOverwhelming,
\nnormally unconscious,
\nCompulsion.<\/p>\n

You throw yourself out there.<\/p>\n

Was it worth it?
\nEveryone is laughing at you.
\nEveryone is cheering for you.
\nEveryone is trying to empathize with you.<\/p>\n

But it feels wrong.
\nYour outburst,
\nBig or small.
\nEven now,
\nYou want these words to be read.
\nIs it a good poem or bad?
\nIf good, will people link it back to me,
\nThink highly of me?<\/p>\n

ATTENTION.
\nBut what is this snag in the pit of your stomach?
\nYou emerge to consciousness,
\nSee the first option:
\nActing, dancing, joking, etc.
\nNo matter how phony it may feel.<\/p>\n

Shouldn’t you love to act or dance or joke?
\nBut why do you just love the attention?<\/p>\n

Second option:
\nWrite for yourself,
\nFor the fun it entails.
\nSing from your heart,
\nUncaring,
\nOnly to give life to your own two feet.<\/p>\n

Now,
\nYou say,
\nI will abstain.
\nBut how long can you withstand the pressure?
\nAttention
