She Lounges Hungrily<\/h1>\n

inamorata of the deep
\nfrozen into their thousand-year dreams,
\nfeed wryly upon one another.
\nchampagne remembrances,
\nasexual canoodling
\nand noisy their pomposity
\naccompanied by a cacophonic ocean.
\nthis passel of blue mussels
\nare adrift on their final ocean.<\/p>\n

In their bunkers of rotting plaster
\nand heroic busts,
\nthe lovers rattle old sabers
\nfusty with the weight of their incarceration,
\nmusky relics that she will wrest from them.
\nbunker tunnels echo with their ancient thoughts
\ntattooed on deadened lips.
\nlast dances as they cavort on tables,
\namid lusty wishes of forgetfulness.
\ntheir illusions rocked by boomlets,
\nbaying soldiers,
\nand armies that raze the living into fetid mounds.<\/p>\n

unabashed adoration remains scattered
\nin the silence of abandonment.
\nthey prepare themselves for the meal the world must have
\nwhile she lounges hungrily in a corner.
\nloss lazes like a grimy dish rag on a spent stove.<\/p>\n

Retired after forty-two years as teacher\/school administrator, he now resides in Mount Sinai, far from Moses and the tablets. This has led him to find words for solace.
