Radio<\/h1>\n

by Michael Vander Does<\/p>\n

Frequencies compete
\nBouncing in and out
\nSpeaking over each other.
\nFrom one direction comes a preacher
\nExhorting
\nTelling me prayers are not answered overnight
\nYou have to wait
\nAnd I wonder
\nWhat good is religion
\nIf it only helps you wait
\nFor the fullness of time.
\nAnd competing for air
\nDuke and Johnny Hodges
\nAre saying to me
\nNow
\nListen to this sweetness now
\nAnd if this is what you want
\nYou can have this sweetness now
\nAnd I pray for the preacher’s voice to fade.
