you said once it was
\nunfair to send the vampire after
\ngarlic,
\nbut i think it was more unfair
\nfor you to call the
\nmermaid
\nfrom the sea
\nonly to leave me on land alone
\na fish out of the water
\ntrying to navigate
\nin a world
\nforeign and awkward to her;
\nyou said it was unfair
\nof me to use
\nyour words against you but you
\nnever minded using mine
\nagainst me\u2014
\nperhaps i was a fool to fall for a vampire
\nin every lore i’ve ever read they
\ndon’t make fit lovers,
\nbut perhaps i was hoping we’d build a better
\nlove story than those before us that
\nhad tried and failed;
\nan open minded mermaid with a heart full of
\nromance and dreams
\nwashed up upon your shore and you
\nmust have counted your
\nlucky stars
\nwhen you took mine from me\u2014
\nyou forget that sometimes there is little difference
\nbetween mermaids and sirens,
\nand one day i will drown
\nyou in the lust you burned me with and let the
\nocean and moon tear you into
\nwings of oblivion.<\/p>\n
