That joke was not funny, and I am willing to bet
\nYour next one isn\u2019t either.<\/p>\n

I am terribly sure you do not like me,
\nBut I was banking on that to begin with.<\/p>\n

There are too many places to be right now
\nAnd deciding is like a plane deciding to swim.<\/p>\n

Stranded in a labyrinth of self-creation,
\nTurned on only because I forgot to turn it off.<\/p>\n

Intermission at a circus seems redundant,
\nThese clowns discarding bills for bad beer.<\/p>\n

Memories can only be born out of faded jeans,
\nShared joints, and fields of tears in mid-July.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re sweet, but your smile is no crescent moon.
\nAnd I can handle their annual third-degree:<\/p>\n

Why don\u2019t you have a boyfriend?
\nAre you sure you aren\u2019t a lesbian?<\/p>\n

Something about the sun\u2019s selfishness on sunless days
\nAlmost makes family gatherings less intolerable.<\/p>\n

Will you blame me for remembering to forget you?
\nYou do not ignite my match with an ice-hot stare.<\/p>\n

The tightrope walk over before I realized it begun.
\nI blinked once; I will not make that mistake again.
