Infirm in old age \u2013
\nOf dark, mocking falling leaves.
\nA Kafkaesque quiet.<\/p>\n

Laws of attraction \u2013
\nThe pain body of summer.
\nBlack hair is my fish.<\/p>\n

Another country \u2013
\nWhales. Poetic explosions.
\nTapestries of flesh.<\/p>\n

Pomegranate tree \u2013
\nI am wet through. My arms rain.
\nCode written in braille.<\/p>\n

Lost in translation \u2013
\nNever tell the whole story.
\nWorship the body.<\/p>\n

Thanks for the water fat \u2013
\nThe wreck is tangled in leaves \u2013
\nSpells smashes the glass.<\/p>\n

Moth and butterfly \u2013
\nWe will go to the black grave.
\nWith your cursed language.<\/p>\n

Metamorphosis \u2013
\nLetters of hope. Suffering.
\nFrom that hot climate.<\/p>\n

All things Orlando \u2013
\nBodies found in the wetlands.
\nWomen disappeared.<\/p>\n

Fed on coconut \u2013
\nWomen must keep diaries.
\nThe bedroom is cold.<\/p>\n

Endangered species \u2013
\nJoy fills my lungs with ice wolves.
\nThe milk flowers. A-white-mess.<\/p>\n

Psychosis. Sadness \u2013
\nThere are two kinds of decay.
\nEchoes too have routes.

Abigail George, a Pushcart Prize nominee writes a weekly article\/commentary for Modern Diplomacy, was recently anthologised in the Sol Plaatje EU Poetry Anthology IV. A feminist, poet, writer she contributes bimonthly to a symposium on the Ovi Magazine: Finland\u2019s English Online Magazine. She is the recipient of grants from ECPACC, the Centre or the Book and the National Arts Council in South Africa.She has written a novella, noveltini, books of poetry, collections of\u00a0short stories and a play.
