A SONNET<\/p>\n

Description and Praise of his Love Geraldine.
\nFrom Tuscan’ came my lady’s worthy race;
\nFair Florence was some time their ancient seat;
\nThe western isle, whose pleasant shore doth face
\nWild Camber’s cliffs, did give her lively heat:
\nFostered she was with milk of Irish breast;
\nHer sire an earl; her dame of princes’ blood:
\nFrom tender years, in Britain she doth rest
\nWith king’s child, where she tasteth costly food.
\nHunsdon did first present her to my een:
\nBright is her hue, and Geraldine she hight:
\nHampton me taught to wish her first for mine:
\nAnd Windsor, alas, doth chase me from her sight.
\nHer beauty of kind, her virtues from above;
