\nbecause Venus is forty-one million kilometers from earth
\nbecause the sun will boil our oceans in one billion years
\nbecause moon-blessed longings turn to cosmic dust
\nbecause I will soon redshift away, slipping through
\nan event horizon, moving at the speed of heartbreak
\nbecause I need to find the shape of me inside you
\nbefore I travel beyond the light
