Description

This true story of a confirmed atheist’s journey includes unexplainable “goosebumps” events on his way to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ at multiple retreats and congregations in multiple states and denominations. In this context, a “goosebumps” event is something that is not looked for, is not expected and can not be explained as a normal natural event or even coincidence. For those who have “hit a dry spell” in their faith journey, turned away from God, doubt His existence, or nonbelievers, this may be just the book to read.

Book excerpt

I was not going to budge from my position that there was no God. Just look at the contradictions in the Bible. Look at that Creation idea. Come on, really? The scientific community was embracing the 19th century theory of Darwin. The chronology suggested in the Bible just wasn’t standing up to carbon dating tests. Science seemed to be constantly disproving things suggested in the Bible. Clearly, it was an either/or choice and the facts were on the side of science, not the Bible.

Therefore, it was obvious that the Bible was for the weak, for the un-scientific and, to put it bluntly, for the gullible. I felt like religion was a tool used by the church to manipulate gullible people and control them to extract money. Over the centuries, history supported this position. Whether it be modern TV evangelists sucking money from gullible followers or the Roman Catholic church, in Martin Luther’s day, selling “indulgences”, it’s the same old story of corruption.

I was smarter than that.

I was an atheist!
