Book excerpt
Celebrity Baby:
Hurrying out of the party and to our waiting limo was exciting, Braden told the driver to take the long way home and I tossed my purse aside, kicking off my flats and scooting back into curve of the seats.
“Oh love,” Braden groaned, climbing into the limo and shrugging out of his jacket. “This is a first with you I’m aching for.”
Biting my lip, I gathered the fabric of my dress and pulled it up to my knees. “This is a first I’m going to remember for a long time.”
The Engagement:
The limo ride back was quiet, painfully so. I held on tight, probably too tight, to the rose that had been at our dinner table and stared at the ring on my finger. The tear drop diamond had never seemed like an engagement stone to me, but it looked perfect. It felt perfect.
Vincent took an audible, deep breath and slid over to me. “Was it wrong? I can have them put it back the way it was if you’re upset,” he offered, carefully taking my hand in his.
I shook my head and sighed. “You couldn’t get it away from me even if you tried.” I tried to smile whole heartedly but couldn’t.
