Author Bio

Aria used to believe in love. and fate. and that one day she’d meet that one gorgeous man that would make all her dreams come true. But when she falls in love with Bryce Williams, it felt like a fairytale. He was a lawyer, he had money and wealth along with beautiful soft brown eyes and that perfectly sculpted jaw that had girls at Beaumont High swooning after him. But over time, he started to change. Aria thought he was her prince, he bought her flowers and brought her to the most romantic places, like Milan and Venice on spring breaks between semesters in college. He kissed her with such gentle passion, but there was always something missing. She always felt like she wasn’t with him, as lovers should be. He was gorgeous and she was just, beside him. A small part in his important, lavish life. But she loved him, so when he asked her to spend february break of her senior year with him at his parents cabin, she said yes.

Bryce changed once they arrived, and she began to see a side of him that terrified her. He had a short, explosive temper and even though she tried to make him happy, it was never enough.

The first morning she woke up with bruises and cuts from his fists, his kicks to her stomach, and a pounding headache from his hands pulling her hair so roughly, she told herself that she’d leave. Her father had taught her how to fight, but when he hit her for the first time, she had no defense. How could she? He was the man she loved, the man who took her heart away when she was sixteen years old.

How could she ever defend herself from the raging anger inside him? So she stayed, up until the night that she’d had enough. She took off the ring he’d given her and he lost it. He beat her so bad that she passed out, the searing pain too much to take anymore. And then, he took the only thing she’d had left to give. He pushed her against his mattress and the weight of him was against hers. He ripped at her clothes and smacked her across her cheek, silencing her cries with a hand trapped against her mouth. He took her, forced her, broke her into tiny pieces that night. And she had no idea how to be whole again.

But then she met Gavin Thomas. After four months of taking small steps toward a full and happy life again, starting to dance again, the only thing that kept her feeling alive at the time and surrounding herself with the ones who loved and supported her, she saw his stormy bluegrey eyes and lean, sculpted body. His mouth that curved deliciously upwards when he smiled, his touch that left tingles all across her body. His eyes that captivated hers. He was ruggedly, impossibly handsome. He was gorgeous, from his full lips to his bluer than the ocean eyes to his roughened hands. And from the very first moment, she couldn’t resist him.

It terrified her and excited her, but when he kissed her with both the gentleness she needed and the passion she craved, all her fears and her doubts just melted away. She craved him, she needed his touch more than the air in her lungs and the idea of losing the feel of it could break her heart in two.

But how could she trust again, after being broken so painfully? Was it possible?

She had no idea. But Aria had to try. She needed Gavin, and she refused to let him go.

Book excerpt

“‘Gavin…” I whisper, my voice breathy in anticipation.

He leans back, meeting my gaze so that it’s impossible for me to look away. His blue-grey eyes capture mine and in this moment, I’m his.

“Yes or no, Aria?” He whispers, urging me closer to him with a hand at the small of my back as his other cups my cheek so gently.

I nod my head, feeling his breath across my face as my chest presses against his. He smells like mint and his touch feels like a dream as I wrap my hands around his neck, my fingers grasping onto soft, smooth strands of his unruly hair.

“Yes…”

He smiles, his hand moving across my cheek to my neck where he tilts my head with his hand while his arm wraps around my waist, his eyes blazing with a desire that takes my breath away.

“Tell me if you want me to stop, Beautiful.”

I moan deep in my throat, the sound of that word from his lips slipping the last of my defenses away as his mouth softly closes over mine. He engulfs my senses and I clutch onto his hair, tangling my fingers in it. I open my mouth to his. He groans, sending tingles up my spine, his arms wrap around my waist and one of his hands grasps the bottom of my short, satin dress. His lips press to mine eagerly, his tongue slips slowly into my mouth, licking, tasting, and exploring me as I do the same, moaning in desire when he nips at my bottom lip. It sends a jolt of aching desire from my lips to my core. Wrapping both arms around his neck, pressing into him, I adjoin his mouth with mine and clutch onto his tee as passion runs through my veins. God, i can’t get close enough.

“Aria”

He whispers against my lips, pulling back an inch to meet my eyes, reading them for a moment before that gorgeous smile graces his mouth and he leans his forehead against mine. I let go of his shirt and wrap my hands around the back of his neck as I struggle to catch my breath.

“That was… wow” I whisper, smiling excitedly. His hand brushes my flushed cheek and his mouth sets in a smile that shows off his ruggedly handsome face.

“Amazing.” He says, pressing his lips to mine softly once more before he leans back and grasps my hand, his eyes shining as he gazes down at me.

“Do you want to dance, Beautiful?”

I grin and nod as he leads me back inside. My heart beats fast and erratically in my chest. His fingers close over mine, walking back to the almost empty floor where a soft melody by Shania Twain is playing. He pulls me into him and presses a hand to my waist. He sweeps me into a slow dance that is just as graceful as before, only this time he presses his mouth to my neck, turning me around so that my back is pressed to his lean chest and his arms wrap around my hips, swaying us to the beat easily.

I close my eyes, enjoying the feel of his ever so gentle touch and the feel of his mouth pressing to the side of my neck. And I know, in this moment I’m completely and totally his. ”
