Description

LUST
The things I sometimes succumb to mentally and physically. Is it fantasy or the freedom from commitment I truly seek. Sometimes, the feelings confuse me because its similar to love, only temporary attachment. The false connection clouds my ability to withdraw from participating even though I’m aware that its momentary fulfillment. There are often times when my weaker self…wins.

LESSONS
Moments that humble, help or hinder you. To be better because you know better. The best administrator of choices and consequences. Growth and wisdom determines pass or fail. Class is always in session. The student never becomes the teacher.

LOVE
That feeling of its meant to be and I’m going to accept you being free, with me. The willingness to embrace flaws, disagree to make up and inhale while your significant only exhales for you. Eyes filled with awe and anger. Kissing honest but sometimes lying lips. Feeling pleasure and pain. It’s better to have loved and not lost.

LIFE
Choose to live daily instead of once as the cliché’ proclaims. Merely existing allows others and situations to decide if you win or lose, the privilege to be happy or sad and it relinquishes your power to follow those you designated through indecisiveness instead of leading the life you were meant to control. Live it or it is lived for you. Either way you are a participant.

Book excerpt

LUST, LESSONS, LOVE AND LIFE

BLACK OR WHITE

Too urban for white Too light for black

Focus on my character, values and morals Instead of the color I lack

What makes black beautiful or unjustifiably catapults white

And who the hell gave you authority on which ethnicity is right

EXPRESSIONS TO MY EX

You impressed me, finessed me, enchanted me

You warmed me, charmed me, embraced me

You soothed me, showered me, pacified me

You composed me, consoled me, comforted me

GOOD GIRL GONE BAD

If its understanding, loyalty or forgiveness that you seek

Forget it, behold the new me, I’m tired of being weak and meek

Loved, desired and adored you, I use to treasure your touch

You ask do I want you back, hell no, and I no longer miss you much

IF ONLY YOU KNEW; TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

If you only knew that the void you left was never filled

That the pain and sadness is masked by my superwoman shield

The feelings of inadequacy as you left your child behind

The scars and childhood images of me fatherless plague my mind

CHICK ON THE SIDE

Settle for less, giving away more

I’ll do whatever it takes to enter through your relationship door Accepting what’s left, callous to doing what’s morally right Watch out, it may be your man that’s in my sight

Open my legs and bag of tricks but keep my heart closed

Hell, it’s not MY fault, you knew he was a cheater when he proposed

EMANCIPATION FROM IGNORANCE

“Ignorance has left the building.” Discounted hand me down chick, illiterate apple bottom nor sperm donor depository will categorize my existence. Loose me from the chains of devaluing education, being fundamentally unskilled, financially reckless and socially untrained. Free me from the pain of being sexually depreciated, mentally mangled and emotionally raped. I’m a hostage to stupidity, spiritual emptiness, careless sperm donors, disrespectful males, conniving predators posing as friends and my two-faced inner me.

FACING MYSELF

How do you move forward from a feeling that may never be duplicated? I think the mind and eyes may play tricks on us BUT the heart does not lie. The emptiness that consumes one during the absence of a fulfillment that can only be satisfied by the one that made your heart beat, gave your soul life and your senses joy. The hurt you feel when those things are no longer a part of your life can be described as a void that will never be filled and it will forever yearn inside of you.

IMAGINE

Imagine being truly free to speak, love and live

Imagine receiving more than you give

Imagine being able to forget the past

Imagine being considered first instead of last

Imagine a world without glass houses

Imagine unconditionally faithful spouses

Imagine your significant other eyes only for you

Imagine your lover words being true

I REMEMBER

I remember your smile, your touch your walk

I remember your kiss, your scent your talk
