Franklyn

Author Bio

After a long career on the stage as an actor and artistic director in the theatre, which she had founded and managed for thirty three years, Rose D. Franklyn now writes hot, sizzling romances set in a theatre environment. When she is not writing, she paints decorative watercolors, spends time in Paris, drinks too much tea, indulges in Sushi and the occasional glass of red wine.

Under her real name, Ingrid McCarthy, the author has also written and published The Osis Fantasy Trilogy, a fantasy series for the middle grade reader (The Black Pearl of Osis, vol.1; The Curse of Lake Osis, vol. 2; and The Battle of Osis, vol. 3); a graphic novel, based on the first volume of the trilogy under the title The Black Pearl of Osis – An Involuntary Journey – all available through Amazon. She has also has written a film script, based on the first volume of the fantasy trilogy and an as yet unpublished 100-page Teacher’s Activity and Resource Guide for Teaching in the Classroom for The Black Pearl of Osis, which can be made available upon request by contacting the author on her website: www.ingridmccarthy.com.

She lives in Ottawa, Canada, her favorite place on Earth.

Description

“Spring Fever and Black Chocolate”, book one in the Sex and the Seasons Series, is a page-turner, a feel-good contemporary romance novel set in a theatre environment with a plot that sizzles with lust and passion amongst drama and suspense, onstage and offstage. It’s a novel that will appeal to readers who appreciate dark chocolate, a credible plot with believable characters, and situations they can relate to. The novel does not contain foul language, or BDSM, which does not mean that it lacks the necessary steam and tension to keep the reader amused and fully entertained from the first to the last page.

A titillating dream jolts Elise Hamilton out of her sexual lethargy. A life of abstention is unhealthy, she decides. It must change. But this is easier said than done. The men who cross her path are actors in the theatre she owns, and she is their artistic director. “I don’t sleep with my actors!” It is a cardinal rule she is unwilling to break.

With his dangerous good looks, charm and talent, Jeremy Brooks could have any woman he sets his eyes on, but he is in love with only one—Elise, who sixteen years ago had been part of his life. When an actor in Elise’s spring production must be replaced, Jeremy takes over the role. It is a calculated move. The former professional actor and TV star is now the CEO of an international real estate agency and a shrewd businessman. He always gets what he wants. And he wants Elise back.

But Elise is not a piece of real estate and no longer the timid, insecure actress of many years ago. The success of the play is uppermost in her mind and therefore she keeps a tight lid on her emotions and intense feelings for Jeremy, until a series of dramatic events not only pose a threat to the show but also to the survival of her theatre, her well-guarded aloof façade and that cardinal rule.

The first book in a series: Four women, four contemporary love stories—hot, sizzling, dramatic and tender—one book for each season!

The second book, “Summer Heat and Forbidden Love” is scheduled to be released in December 2014.

Book excerpt

Elise walked to her customary production team table by the window and found Carmela, Allyson and Pauline leaning over half finished bowls of soup in a heated conversation.

“What are you ladies talking about?”

“Oral sex!” Pauline answered without looking up.

“Was he any good at it?” Elise sat down, next to Pauline and grinned at her broadly, raising her eyebrows in good humor. Whenever Pauline mentioned sex, one could always bet it was about her and another chapter in her turbulent, erotic life.

“Oh, yeah!” Pauline replied, breathily. She closed her eyes, pouted her full lips and sucked in air, deeply, as she dropped back her head, moaning as if about to climax.

Pauline, an attractive, voluptuous, strawberry blonde in her mid-thirties, had a voracious appetite for sex, and her grand sex-capades had over the past months become titillating preludes to their bi-monthly production meetings.

Our very own episodes of “Sex and the City,” Elise thought, laughing to herself. Perhaps she should take notes and develop them into a play—a one-woman show with Pauline as the star! THAT would bring in the crowds!

“Shhh!” Carmela hissed, thoroughly embarrassed, looking about the room. “Keep it down, please! You’re entertaining the entire restaurant!”

Luckily, the Met was not yet crowded with lunchtime patrons. But Pauline’s antics did not pass unnoticed. Two men at the corner table nearby looked over their shoulders, a curious expression in their eyes. It didn’t take them long to catch on and, when they did, they smirked and quickly turned away, suppressing laughter.

“You ladies all right?” Étienne’s face was professionally blank as he placed Elise’s plate with the club sandwich, surrounded by a mountain of golden fries, and a pot of Earl Grey in front of her. He was used to Pauline’s theatricals, and he winked at Elise, conspiratorially, as he straightened up.

“Another glass of red wine!” Pauline handed Étienne her empty glass. She had come out of her pose and began drumming her fingertips on the tabletop, her lips pressed together in a thin line.

Allyson and Carmela exchanged quick glances then focused on Pauline’s face, their features becoming more animated by the second in anticipation of another spicy tale.

“So, if it was that fantastic, what’s the problem?” Elise dowsed her French fries with ketchup. She glanced from Allyson to Carmela and back at Pauline. “Am I missing something? Don’t be shy! Fill me in!”

“Pauline met this fabulous guy,” Allyson volunteered.

“That’s all we know.” Carmela shrugged and, turning to Pauline, “C’mon, Pauline, continue! Don’t keep us guessing!”

“Yeah, true… I met this terrific looking man…” Pauline paused to allow Étienne to serve the wine. She took a gulp then continued, “…on the Vanier Parkway… about ten days ago. I’m driving home from the West End. I stop at a red light and this black Porsche pulls up next to me. Wow, the car was amazing! And the guy… it was an older man driving it… was even more amazing!”

Author Website

https://www.amazon.com/author/rosedfranklynandromance

Best place to buy your book

https://www.amazon.com/author/rosedfranklynandromance

“Spring Fever and Black Chocolate”, book one in the Sex and the Seasons Series, is a page-turner, a feel-good contemporary romance novel set in a theatre environment with a plot that sizzles

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[3,10

post-1535","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-book-listing","category-fiction

https://i0.wp.com/www.everywritersresource.com/selfpublished/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/springfever.jpg?fit=1247%2C743&ssl=1
["GET
