Without even realizing it, Eric begins to envy the abilities of some of the other animals that live around him. Once his mother recognizes what Eric is doing, she helps him redirect his focus, move past those feelings and become his happy self again.<\/p>\n

Eric the Earthworm is written and illustrated to demonstrate how little thoughts of wonder and amazement at the abilities of others can sometimes turn into feelings of envy. The book tells the story of a young earthworm named Eric who loves life in the park where he lives. He looks around and just beams at all the sights and sounds, but one day his joy turns to sadness when he begins to envy the abilities of others that also reside in the park where he lives.<\/p>\n

He inches around to go one way or the other.<\/p>\n

You see, when Eric walks, he doesn\u2019t use feet like us.<\/p>\n

He stretches himself across the ground, almost like a rubber band.<\/p>\n

And he moves along about an inch at a time.<\/p>\n

Eric is a pretty happy earthworm, too.<\/p>\n

He likes to play in the grass, and he loves dirt.<\/p>\n

He also loves to look around at the sights and sounds in the park where he lives.<\/p>\n
