A masquerade ball offers Eva Haralambos, Zoe’s dark-haired, blue eyed, six-foot tall peaceful and gentle partner, the chance to metamorphosize into a tattooed, leather clad Greaser on her own intimidatory mission. Her long hair was slathered by that foul cream that Zoe had used to grease it. Zoe had hidden her hair under a short haired black wig that she had managed to find. She was wearing the black leather pants Zoe had created, and they were tight. Not tight enough so she couldn’t move, but very snug.

“I hope I don’t need to go to the bathroom.”

The t-shirt they had borrowed from Patrick was on the bed, and long black boots were sitting next to the bed. Zoe had very patiently drawn a phoenix rising out of the fire on Eva’s chest. Eva tilted her head to the left and traced the phoenix’s head. She leaned in for a close look and marveled at Zoe’s attention to detail. Eva’s smile broadened on seeing how detailed the eyes were. Instead of black, they had a tiny dot of blue.

Zoe came up behind her and put her arms around her waist. “You were miles away,” she said. “You didn’t even hear me calling you.”

“I didn’t hear you love. I was just trying to get into the right frame of mind and,” Eva replied before Zoe gave her a quick kiss. “I was also admiring your beautiful artwork”

“Ah. The phoenix looks gorgeous, better than I thought, and it looks so beautiful against your skin,” Zoe said as she traced the temporary tattoo. “Before you second guess, Patrick is alright in the boyfriend stakes, and yes, you are sexy in those pants.”

Eva threw her head back and laughed. “I don’t think I can sit down. How do you know what I’m thinking?”

“It’s because I know you.”

“Did I scare Elena too much?”

“You did a little, but she knows it was an act,” Zoe quietly replied. “It took me back to when we were arguing in the cellar.”

“Are we going to talk about the war? Let’s not.” Eva knew talking about the war would end with both of them in tears. “Can we get back to me looking sexy in these pants?”

“Yes, sexy pants is far better than war stories. Yes, they are very sexy on you. I can’t wait to get them off you. ” Zoe gently slapped Eva’s butt. “Wait here.”

Zoe ran out of the room as Eva let out an exaggerated sigh. She came back with Eva’s camera.

“Zoe, you don’t need a photograph.”

“Oh, yes, I do,” Zoe said as she arranged Eva’s hair. “Ready?”

Eva rolled her eyes and sighed. “Don’t I need to wear the shirt?”

“Not yet.” Zoe came close to Eva and took a photograph of the phoenix. “Half naked is good.”

Author Website

http://www.nextchapter.net

Best place to buy your book

It’s 1950 and Zoe Lambros is a young Arts College graduate who has found work in the Sydney Art Gallery as a junior art restorer.
