The Transient\/Hayley<\/h1>\n

Slow down Hayley says slow down, you\u2019re speaking too fast. She says she better sit down so you find a place to sit so the room and the world will stop spinning. It just happens to be a bed, and she laughs because you probably could have found a chair.<\/p>\n

Slow down Hayley says take it slow and lays down next to you. You take it slow.<\/p>\n

Slow down Hayley can\u2019t find her skirt so you give her some pants and say you\u2019ll find it later, but she\u2019s gotta go. Slow down Hayley says thanks for the night, says she\u2019ll give you a call, says she\u2019ll see you real soon.<\/p>\n

Slow down Hayley has a long walk home. You say, \u201cSlow down Hayley,\u201d you\u2019ll take that walk. She waits, she walks back, she waits more. She says she didn\u2019t expect to see you so soon, and you laugh. And she laughs.<\/p>\n

Slow down Hayley leans in for a kiss, you say, \u201cSlow down Hayley,\u201d it\u2019s only a walk. She settles for your hand, you settle for her hand. You say it\u2019s cold out and pull her closer.<\/p>\n

Slow down Hayley asks why you\u2019re holding her so tightly, says it\u2019s real late, says this is her, this is her.<\/p>\n

Slow down Hayley is a small girl, she\u2019s only a pound over a hundred, she\u2019s not very strong.<\/p>\n

Slow down Hayley pulls, she pulls, she pulls, she gets away, but can\u2019t run very fast in your pants, in the dark, and when she\u2019s just out of sight you say, \u201cSlow down Hayley,\u201d you\u2019re gonna get hurt.<\/p>\n

Slow down Hayley couldn\u2019t feel your damage, she could only feel hers. She\u2019d always hoped for someone to say, \u201cSlow down Hayley,\u201d but when you catch her she\u2019s the one who screams, \u201cWait!\u201d<\/p>\n

Slow down Hayley, you\u2019re moving too fast. Just hold on Hayley, this will be over soon.<\/p>\n
