We are looking to start a dialogue between authors about issues in publishing. We hope that you will join the discussion here. Each week we will have a new dicussion about the state of publishing and self-publishing. We want to hear from you. We have had a flood of submissions for this site, and our we have a lot of viewers so, please comment. If you have published your own book, or you are trying to promote your book, please let us know. Also, feel free to plug your book when you leave a comment! We are happy to promote you always.
The topic this week: Are you having trouble promoting your book? How are promotions online? Have you found good ways to get your book our there? Let us all know.
Note: We are about a month behind on posting listings. I’m sorry about this, but it has been impossible to keep up. We are working hard to get your works up on our site. Soon will come a day when we publish a lot of our submissions, and that will put us much closer to even. Stay tuned.
Hi there
Like others, I have listed on various Indie sites because I want the name of my book to be out there, but I have the strong impression that most of us are not all that interested in other people’s books! At least I have seen no effect even from a profile on a site that has a fair amount of traffic, and I have to admit that I don’t spend much time looking at the other books that are mentioned. I’m not sure what the answer to this is. It certainly makes me doubt the value of the commercial “Virtual Tours” that offer profiles and reviews. Does anyone have any experience of these?
