Since my earliest childhood, I was told that in order to be happy I should fight for love. But nobody ever explained to me what that meant. Basically, after thinking about how to fix a problem in a relationship, often it would result in confronting the man I was interested in either verbally, silently, or in writing. Whatever method was chosen, my man would clearly interpret it as an attack against him. So, the whole concept of fighting ‘for’ my man would always turn into fighting ‘with’ my man. I stood firm in this struggle until it was clear that I was failing over and over again. That is, until the day the Lord revealed what it meant to be the woman in the relationship.
