On to the list. . .

The Exorcist is missing. Because of it's social impact I would include it.
Your mileage may vary. But it was a breakthrough occasion at it's debut.
No doubt about it, The Exorcist made waves.

I like that you included Cape Fear. The original. Robert Mitchum has quite
a few weird movies to his credit, including The Night of the Hunter. Along with
Fred McMurray, he is a brilliant menace. Reminds me of Dennis Hopper. . .

Do you have a list of Noir Films?

Great list...   But I'd have to add "The Haunting" written by Nelson Gidding and Directed by Robert Weise.   Amazing movie and the screenplay is a terrific read!
