the gravity of the situation
because I didn’t want to admit
I wasn’t grounded anymore.
I knew that as soon as I opened that door,
I’d fly away.

She received a degree in Creative Writing and Film, Television, and Interactive Media from Brandeis University and currently runs a poetry blog at shesinprison.com. Leanne’s goal as a poet is to attract attention to the medium by proving to the masses that poetry is cool, using social media like Instagram and Pinterest to expose verse to those that might not otherwise seek it out.
