I’m worried about you by Angela Carrano

I’m worried about you

by Angela Carrano

You lay yourself bare
and make it look graceful.
begging someone
to love you.

Pathetic.

It disgusts me,
how much I envy you.

Holding your heart out to strangers and monsters
with a fearless intimacy.

God damn? it’s beautiful.

But I have a bitter heart
safely nestled away behind skin and ice.
And I will destroy yours,
just because.

Angela Carrano lives in Sag Harbor, New York. She recently graduated from Roger Williams University with a degree in Political Science. Angela writes mostly long fiction, but has recently started to try her hand at poetry. In her free time she likes reading disgustedly sentimental poetry and seeing who picks up on her Heathers references.
