The world of literary journals is always expanding with exciting new publications launching frequently. As an avid reader and writer, it can be challenging to keep up with the latest journals, but it’s rewarding to discover fresh voices and perspectives. Here are 11 new beautiful literary journals you can read online. These are some of the best new magazines, well-crafted and well designed. Check them out and submit your work.   1. The Dawn Review (https://thedawnreview.com/)

An online journal publishing fiction, nonfiction, poetry and art, The Dawn Review launched in 2020 with a focus on spotlighting marginalized creators. They publish innovative work and support underrepresented writers.

2. Ouch! Collective (https://www.ouchcollective.com )

With a tagline “Literature to make you gasp,” Ouch! Collective debuted in 2021 as an online journal publishing provocative fiction, nonfiction, poetry and art. They aim to push boundaries and explore the uncomfortable.

3. Copihue Poetry (https://www.copihuepoetry.com )

Founded in 2022, Copihue Poetry is dedicated to sharing contemporary Spanish language poetry with English translations. Named after the national flower of Chile, it provides a platform for Hispanic poets from around the world.

4. Chinchilla Lit (https://www.chinchillalit.com/)

A new journal launched in 2022 focusing on fiction, nonfiction, poetry and art for children and young adults. Chinchilla Lit celebrates youthful creativity and whimsical expression. Their online digital issues are impressive. 

5. Twin Bird Review (https://www.twinbirdreview.com/)

Twin Bird Review emerged in 2023  as an online journal publishing fiction, nonfiction, poetry and art with a particular interest in hybrid genres and experimental forms. Their biannual issues feature compelling new writers.

6. Moot Point Magazine (https://www.mootpointmagazine.com/)

With its first issue in 2022, Moot Point Magazine is an online journal publishing fiction, nonfiction, poetry and art centered around the theme of “finding meaning in the meaningless.” They aim to explore existential questions through literature. They publish work regularly. 

7. Metamorphosis Literary Journal (https://www.myivyeducation.org/metamorphosis )

A new journal from Ivy Education Group launched in 2022, Metamorphosis Literary Journal is focused on publishing fiction, nonfiction, poetry and art by current high school students as well as providing educational resources.

8. Illuminations of the Fantastic (https://illuminationsofthefantastic.com/)

An annual speculative fiction journal, Illuminations of the Fantastic emerged in 2020 publishing strange and wondrous sci-fi, fantasy and magical realism short stories, poetry and art. Their first annual issue featured notable authors like Ted Chiang. Their issues just keep getting better and better.

PROMPTED is a new literary magazine founded in 2021 that provides unusual writing prompts aimed to inspire outside-the-box poetry and flash fiction. Writers can submit prompt-based poems and stories for publication. It’s a limited run fiction journal, but very elite and well circulated. It’s worth sending them your work. 

10. Invisible City (https://www.invisiblecitylit.com/)

With its first issue in 2020, Invisible City is a new literary journal published twice yearly focusing on poetry, fiction and nonfiction written by Black creators. They aim to uplift and amplify marginalized voices.

The 7th Circle of Hell as represented in Dante’s Inferno is reserved for those who have committed acts of violence. In the world we live in—where violence runs rampant—sometimes we may feel Hell is already here.
