Welcome to our Summer Haiku Showdown 2024! We’re on a mission to discover the most captivating haiku that will make our jaws drop and our hearts sing. Whether you’re a seasoned haiku master or a budding wordsmith, we want to read your brilliant creations. The topic and style are entirely up to you – let your creativity run wild!

We’re throwing down the gauntlet and challenging you to write not just one, but up to five haiku that will leave us speechless. Don’t be shy – we dare you to post your haiku in the comments below. We promise to devour every single syllable you share with us.

Now, here’s the best part – the prize! While we won’t be handing out cash, we’ve got something even better in store for the winner. Brace yourself for a month of glorious exposure! Your winning haiku will be prominently featured in our website’s sidebars, and we’ll sing your praises across all our social media platforms – Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. But wait, there’s more! We’ll also include your haiku in an email blast that will reach over 40,000 poetry enthusiasts. And here’s the cherry on top – you can promote anything writing-related, be it your latest book, your blog, or your writing services. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get your work in front of a massive audience!

The Summer Haiku Showdown 2024 is open for submissions from now until June 30th. We’ll carefully consider each and every haiku, and the winner will be announced on July 10th. In addition to the incredible exposure, the winning haiku will be published on Every Day Poems and featured on our front page, complete with a link to your chosen promotion.

To enter, simply follow these rules:

  1. Craft your haiku in the classic 5-7-5 syllable format.
  2. There’s no limit to the number of times you can enter – the more haiku, the merrier!
  3. Post your haiku in the comments section below.
  4. Make the haiku about summer
  5. Make sure to submit your haiku before the deadline on June 30th, 2024.
  6. The winner will be announced on July 10th, 2024.
