New Every Writer and Winner

Posted on October 30, 2014October 30, 2014 by Richard

What a great Halloween season we’ve had this year. I want to thank everyone for coming to our site and submitting your work. Our readers are no kidding, the best on the web. I checked again tonight and we had close to 600 submissions for our Horror Story Contest this year. That really blew my mind. This is the best year by far for Horror submissions and for people submit their work. The Haiku and 2 Sentences of Horror Challenge were both successful. As a thank you we are giving this month’s Every Writer the Magazine away for free. The issues are always free, but we usually ask you to sign up.

We really love this issue. It’s mostly horror and some poetry, but most of all it was a lot of fun to put together. You are getting a first look here. The issue won’t go out to our mailing list and to our apps for another day or 2, but as a Halloween treat we couldn’t resist.

Also, it wouldn’t be Halloween without announcing our Horror Story Contest Winner: Dana Schellings for Billy’s Room. We thought this was an excellent take on a scary story. It better defined what monsters are in our society.  Dana wins a $1000 in ads on the site with email blasts and everything else we do for promotions. We have not contacted her yet, so if you see her, tell her to email us (joking).

The winner of the Haiku contest is Nicola Kean.

As I said this is a first look at our magazine. We will be doing final checks this weekend. Please download it, read it, enjoy it. Leave us comments below.

There is an interview in here with Nin Andrews, and it’s awesome, make sure to read it. The issue will up on Issuu soon as well. Happy Halloween.

If you download the magazine, let us know in the comments. If you like the magazine, sign up with our mailing list, and you’ll get a new issue at least 4 times per year:

I wanted to add, in the Classifieds section of this issue there are many calls for submissions and contest. Take a look.
