10 Movies Based on Books! (Coming Soon)

10 Movies Based on Books!

Coming Soon

Near you, and all that jazz

These 10 movies, based on novels, are coming out over the next year or so. We are looking forward to all of these (some more than others of course). A few we are very excited about On the Road should be awesome. Anyway, enjoy the list, and we hope mark these dates, and go see the film. Just remember, READ THE BOOKS FIRST! Always.

I think it holds true for everyone that the movies are never as good as the book. They are usually such a let down, but in these upcoming films you can see they are done with care. All look to be blockbuster and high quality.

Anna Karenina

November 9, 2013

We are really looking forward to Leo Tolstoy’s Ann karenina on the big screen. This on stars Keira Knightley. She is one of my favorites, beautiful and always entertaining to watch. Know the story though, it’s hard to see how they are going to make this story move on the big screen.

Life of PI

On the Road

December 21, 2012

We been waiting and waiting for this movie to come out. It’s been playing at festivals for about 6 months, and we are ready to see it!

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

December 14, 2012

All three Lord of the Rings movies are great, so we are guessing this film is going to be outstanding too.

Les Miserable

December 25, 2012

A new take on Hugo’s classic (for a film), but we’ll take it. It is an amazing story, one of the most moving ever. If you haven’t read it, you should make this your next book.

OZ The Great and Powerful

March 8, 2013

The movie is sorta kinda like the Wizard of OZ (Which they need to REALLY remake by the way), buy this version looks very good.

Carrie

March 15, 2013

This is the second remake of this film. The book is great. The first film was good. We hope this one turns out.

The Great Gatsby

May 10, 2013

The trailers for this film look great, but we are asking ourselves why does this classic novel need to be in 3D? What, What?

World War Z

June 21, 2013

They are having some trouble with this one, we’ve heard. The book is outstanding, and we really hope we get the movie right.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

December 25, 2013

We love the short story, and are NOT fans of the old Danny Kay movie. We hop this one will be better.
