50 Bigfoot writing prompts

50 bigfoot writing prompt

Here are 50 Bigfoot writing prompts: whether you think Bigfoot is real or imaginary, the legendary hairy hominid of the Pacific Northwest makes for great fiction fodder. I recently came across a list of 50 varied writing prompts featuring our friend Sasquatch at the center of stories across genres from science fiction to personal narrative to screenplays.

As an amateur writer always on the lookout for unique story ideas, I was intrigued. Bigfoot’s enduring pop culture popularity means most readers have a baseline familiarity with the cryptid, providing the creative writer a lot to work with in crafting tales around the mythical man-beast. The prompts run the gamut from humor to horror, speculative science to historical fiction.

In my new blog series “Writing Sasquatch,” I will be selecting a few of these Bigfoot-focused story ideas and developing them into full flash fiction pieces just for fun. I’m interested to see where these unusual prompts might transport my imagination. Along the way I’ll share my drafts and process. Maybe these story starts will catalyze your own tales – put on your literary hiking boots and join me on a writing adventure exploring the terrain of everyone’s favorite cryptozoological mystery! The first trailheads await…
