Fowlpox Press (Defunct)

    From the Editor

This disorderly quarterly has published poetry by Hugh Seidman, articles devoted to composers written by rising stars, and artwork by pre-Soviet era painters. You can’t neatly categorize what is here, but like a good junktique store run by the old hippy who seems to know a little about everything, you will always find something you like. The art and music serve as a compliment to the bold poems written in every tongue, and we are always hungry for new poets.

    Submissions

I want unusual juxtapositions, great discourses on the human condition boiled down toa few well-chosen words, off-key rants and absolutely no posturing, unless it is followed by a well-shot fart.

    Upcoming

We are preparing a great cycle of pancake haiku, in which haiku is written on frozen pancakes with a Sharpie, and then eaten on live TV. I think this will be as close as we can get to our initial objective of publishing the magazine in pancake form. At two dollars per eight frozen panacakes and with limited access to caligraphers willing to write on frozen pancakes, we can only expect so much. We do ask that anyone interested in participating to please contact us. The project has a twenty year cycle, so there are no deadlines.

This works for those authors who wish to demonstrate their admiration for our magazine by sending me a book or a photo, which does happen. Otherwise, we encourage poets to send their work through email, either as an attachment or in the body of the email. If you are fussy about the integrity of your stanzas, and that they stanza on stone foundations, then email a PDF version of your work.
