The Only Love Haiku You’ll Ever Write Contest

Posted on January 24, 2022January 28, 2023 by Richard

This is a difficult contest. Honestly I don’t think a lot of writers will be able to do this one. If we get responses on this one, I’ll honestly be shocked. Welcome to our 2022 The Only Love Haiku You’ll Ever Write Contest. We call it this for a couple of reasons. 1. Writing love poetry is more difficult than most people think. 2. Writing a Love Haiku isn’t something a lot of writers spend much time doing these days. I guess I’m saying not only is it difficult, it’s also, in many cases, thankless. Se this contest can be your incentive. We are giving away 1 month of promos to the winner.

You haiku must be warm, moving, and it can even be a little sappy. If I get a tear in my eye from reading it, you’ve probably won.

-Poem must be 5,7,5
-Poem must about love, warm, moving.
-Haiku must be great.
-Enter as many times as possible.
-Deadline is May 1st 2022.
-Put the Haiku in the comments below.
-Include a title!

Make sure you at least include an email where we can get in touch with you.

The season for love is here, but we are running this until May, so entering early could help. A lot of people will be reading your poetry for the upcoming Love Day. So please write your best haiku. Post it below, and good luck.

    Hugs and Dishes

Ok, let’s see if I can
    Do the dishes with
My love draped all over me

    On Second Thought

    We did look good together
    Our reflection on
    The museum-mirrored wall

    Nipping at the Bud

    My anxious feeling means I’m
    Serious, one-way
Or the other, we will see

    Love Tally—Keeping Score

    What we have in common:

    We’re both Capricorns
    We are both youngest born
We’re single, intelligent, educated, sincere, thoughtful, honest, loyal, passionate and responsible

    Differences:

    Everything else

    The Meaning

This poem means I have been
    Thinking of you all
Day, all night, all day, all night

A Woman with Cakes like Yours

    Angel’s food or devil’s food
    Either way we’ve got
    Cake, moist, delicious, so sweet

    Angel Wings

Your legs wrapped around me tight
    Like big angel wings
    Warming us on a Sunday

    Love Lace

It’s so nice to have someone
    To write poems to
    Like kisses for the senses

    Living in America

    You are the whole package
    She told me cause I
Can dance to James Brown music

    Frosting on Her Cake

    There is something I’ve wanted
    To ask you, what do
    You think about birth control?

    Serious Fun

You are so much fun because
    We are serious
    Having fun is serious

    Who Would Think

    Beneath your buttoned collar
    And professional
    Air is lingerie for me

    She Wants More

She is a lively soul that
    Woman of mine, fear-
Less she smiles, enters my life

    The Color of Power

    Afternoon light thru raindrops
    And shining wet leaves
    Subdues my room with power

    I Forgot What?

    No, it was you, I
    Haven’t had sex like
That in how long, wiped me out

    Morning

    She is a natural beauty
    My sweet China doll
Strong legs wrapped around me tight

    But At Night

She loves me she says she does
    Hugs me all day long
    Her hips rumble beneath me

    Happy New Year

You’re making me cum just by
    Touching me, she said
She shook and I pressed harder

    Burnt Me

    A gray rainy day today
    I’m not pretty. You
Are, your smile burns right through me

    Sexy Girl

You just want me for sex, I
    Told her. It’s true, she
Said, but Ok, I’m a girl

    Night Vision

You are mine now. You love me
    And I love you too
Please, please sleep with me tonight

    No Date

You’re with a friend from back when
    The Super Bowl plays on
No you and me, not tonight

    So Much Better in Person

You’re not the same on the phone
    No body language
Nothing for my eyes to do

    Deja You

    I’m talking to myself a-
    Gain, thinking of you
    Roast duck sandwiches and bed

    That day met my fate

    That day met my fate
When she came into my life
    No longer a dream

    Eight years of Love Dreams

    She haunted my dreams
For eight long years she was there
    In my nightly dreams

    When she came to me

    When she came to me
I was lost and she found me
    Taking charge of me

    Red is the color

    Red is the color
That inspires my love for her
    Our passion is red
    The date I met her

    I will always remember
    I became her love slave
