Thanksgiving Flavored 2 Sentence Story Challenge

Posted on November 12, 2014June 30, 2017 by Richard

2 Sentence Story Challenge

I like getting at least one poetry and one short story writing challenge going at a time. We’ve started the Cinquain Challenge for poetry, and now I’m starting the Thanksgiving Flavored 2 Sentence Story Challenge.

I would like to get as many 2 sentence short stories for our next issue of Every Writer, as I can. We like to use the stories in the margins, and for fills where the columns falls short.

So here’s what we want. You can make these as many words as you like, but it must be no longer than 2 sentences. I would like them flavored Thanksgiving, about food or family is fine. Light on the horror stories please, I over read them this Halloween, and my horror tooth is still full.

Example as always:

Title:

We all Survived Thanksgiving

I couldn’t believe we all arrived at the exact same time to the restaurant. We smashed one car of family into another resulting in us eating Thanksgiving dinner at Vance Memorial Hospital.

We had our salad, turkey, stuffing, pies, and other refreshments. The afternoon filled with football, snoring and convivial conversation reflected our joy at being together.

Laughter and frivolity echoed off the kitchen walls as my twenty guests took their seats at the oak dining room table. But when I pulled Tom from the stone-cold oven, only silence greeted me as I looked teary-eyed at my guests.

The long awaited day is here. The mouth watering turkey, tantalizing aromas of pumpkin and apple pie are permeating through the air.

my eyes were drawn to the smell of turkey, a mouth water smell wafting toward my nose, the smell went to my chest making me feel warm and fuzzy. we lift our chapang glasses and cheered to our humanity.
