The Threepenny Review is an esteemed literary magazine publishing contemporary poetry, fiction, essays, and reviews since 1980. Based in Berkeley, California, TPR releases four print issues per year featuring acclaimed writers alongside new voices.
Known for its award-winning cultural coverage, TPR presents diverse perspectives on literature, arts, politics and society. Submissions are read year-round and only a small fraction are selected through an extremely competitive process. TPR has published eminent authors such as Margaret Atwood, W.S. Merwin and Ursula K. TPR accepts submissions of poetry, short fiction, personal essays, literary criticism and reviews. Writing should be stylistically polished and thematically impactful. Only previously unpublished works are considered.

TPR holds the annual Milton Kessler Memorial Prize for poetry and short fiction with a top prize of $500. Contest deadline is August 31.
